Since the launch of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a wide array of characters, and a thrilling plot showcasing angels, fiends, and sinister influences growing in influence within the urban setting.
Warning: Revealing details for the latest installment of the new season follow below.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
The third episode finished on a dramatic pause and presented the premier party of characters who will split off from the main group to undertake their independent quest, distinct from the remaining groups.
This warrior group includes Teor (played by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
With a large ensemble, it was obvious from the start that maintaining everyone at one table would be unworkable.
That’s why, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, weaving together the individual narratives before branching into three smaller tables: Fighters, Strategists, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
According to the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who enjoy a typically action-packed fight-heavy story mode where non-violent answers are few and far between.
Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander might look out of place, but the developments of episode 3 demonstrate why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the group knows exactly where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose death initiated the narrative’s action—manipulated the foes for his personal gain, breaking into the secret base, striking the rogue, and stealing all the powerful objects to sell off.
The traitor then settled his liabilities and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, above the city, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each member has a specific drive to exit the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the close ally and closest confidant, desires revenge.
- The adventurer is familiar with the northern area and warns that it is a hostile location.
- The strong character and The cleric, having resisted his family’s wishes to execute the fighter and instead freed him, have no other options.
- However, their position as prominent individuals in the influential clan could enable the group access places they usually can’t.
- Moreover, Teor swore a life debt to Wicander for his deliverance and will now go with him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are wanted by the powers that control the setting for a range of causes, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The cleric defied House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the family.
This results in them little choice but to head to the northern region in quest for Casimir.
Future Episodes
According to the recent installment’s Cooldown, we find out that the warrior group won’t be around the following episode, leaving the remaining eight players to assemble the Explorers and Planners parties.
Audiences can look forward to discovering which characters will be in which group in the season’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on October 24.
